Pirate City
1hr b&w playing around, it's been a while, sorry. I'm a bit rusty but refreshed at the same time. I thought the city would be made of left-over sails, masts, and ropes from the poor plundered victim ships.

"Who is this Baby Ruth?"
I visited a thrift store and found a couple old Time and Life magazine specials that had really nice photos in it. This one's a photo of a small boy standing next to Babe Ruth who's much larger than him. 30min

New website
My new portfolio website is live!
It works on your smartphone and tablet too!
In the process, I learned about responsive design, scripting in javascript and jQuery, and also the challenge of designing for cross-browser compatibility.
Here are the original comps.

Longbow Archer concept
I did some archer silhouettes on my iPad awhile back and I thought of an archer that specializes in shooting long distances. The archer has a massive mounted bow and spiral-carved arrows that help stabilize its flight over tremendous distances. She has a viewing hole eye piece that helps her aim.

10 Minutes Go!
Quick studies like these force me to address the important shapes and values first. I learned that I don't do that well enough, so I'll do these more.

League of Legends - Lux
She's the most fun to play in my opinion and I play her pretty much exclusively now. I'm trying to slow down and bring more of a finish to my work. It's also brought into light (haha, light get it?) how I can improve space and form in painting, because I'm slowing down to think about every plane and it's place in space.

Figurative Sculpture
I never expected I would enjoy working with form so much. My instructor was Robert Copskey. Now it makes me curious about 3d modeling lol.

Cavern (Video Game)

I made the short trailer and the game site was designed by my partner. It's promotional and provides information about the project.
It was a 5 week project, and made possible by spending days on Skype, and spamming e-mails back and forth. He did the coding, and I art directed, developed concept art and created the visual assets. I tried to do a bit of the coding and he tried to do a bit of the art. It was great to experience the processes in developing a game, the interaction between artist and programmer, and tackling design limitations due to time and software constraints.
